Plant:
~ Bare root shrubs, transplant deciduous, and Evergreen trees and shrubs while still dormant.
~ New roses where they will get at least 6 hours of daily sunlight.
~ Move Boxwoods.
~ Fruit trees, Dogwood, Magnolia, Maple, Bayberry, Spirea, Mockorange, Needle and Broad Leaf Evergreens.
Prune:
~ All early blooming plants after blooming.
~ Fruit trees and other deciduous trees and non blooming evergreen shrubs (not hollies) before spring growth begins.
~ Clip established ivy.
~ Prune Ornamental Grasses and Butterfly Bushes.
~ Mid March prune Boxwood by hand.
~ Prune all dead wood from Azaleas, Rhodies and trees.

~ Don't rush to remove mulch from perennials. Plants need protection during late winter.
~ When plants start to grow remove mulch to allow leaves to develope.

April
Be prepared for late frost until May 10th.
Plant:
~ New Roses, deciduous shrubs, perennials, Needle and Broad Leaf Evergreens.
~ Continue transplanting trees and shrubs if they are not in "bud" or "leafing".
~ Dig and divide established summer and fall blooming perennials.
~ Continue planting bare-rooted shrubs.
Prune:
~ Spring shrubs soon after blooming.
~ Carefully remove winter mulch around plants, replenish with new mulch.
