Plant:
~ Gladioli every 10 days for a succession of bloom.
~ Annuals and divide any missed plants.
~ Continue planting trees and shrubs.
~ Divide and replant early blooming perennials after flowering.
Prune:
~ Flowering trees and shrubs when finished blooming.
~ Pinch back aster and mum buds to prevent early bloom.
~ To keep young pine trees small and compact, prune by pinching back half of the new growth each year.

Plant:
~ Dig, divide and replant bulbs that are crowded or you want to move to another location.
~ Daffodils planted in beds should be divided every four years.
~ Newly purchased container grown plants can still be planted.
Prune:
~ Both Evergreen and deciduous trees and shrubs, after they have finished blooming.
~ Pinch back Mums and Asters.
~"Deadhead" Perennials and Roses throughout the summer.
~ Prune annuals before you vacation, they'll be beautifully full when you return.

~ Water everything thoroughly, using plastic soaker hoses with perforated side down allowing water to soak deep into soil,
and not foilage.
~ Control slugs and Japanese Beetles without using pesticides by sinking a container, such as a margerine tub flush with
the ground and fill with 1 to 2 inches of beer, cut a hole in the lid and put lid in place. Replace beer every 3 days.
~ Remove any disease infected leaves or plants immediately. Never put them in your compost pile.
